Frequently asked questions

Does ShikshaLoan charge students anything?

No. ShikshaLoan is free for students and families. There is no fee for guidance, for checking eligibility, or for help preparing and submitting a loan application. If anyone asks you to pay ShikshaLoan for these, tell us before paying.

Is ShikshaLoan a lender?

No. ShikshaLoan is not a bank or an NBFC and cannot approve a loan. We help you compare routes, prepare the file, and apply. The lender decides approval, the interest rate, the sanctioned amount, and the disbursement schedule.

What does ShikshaLoan actually do for me?

We work through the funding picture with you: what the course will cost, how much of the gap a loan needs to cover, which lender routes fit your profile and collateral position, what documents each one expects, and what to do after a sanction letter arrives.

Do you publish interest rates on this site?

Not at the moment. Education-loan rates move, and they vary by lender, course, country, collateral, and co-applicant profile, so a number published here would be wrong for most readers. We will talk you through the current rates that apply to your case, and the lender states the final rate in its sanction letter.

How do I talk to a person?

Call or message +91 93152 23344 on WhatsApp, Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm IST. You can also use the contact page. A real person answers; there is no obligation to apply for anything.

Which lenders can I apply to through ShikshaLoan?

We help you compare public banks, private banks, NBFCs, and international lenders. The right shortlist depends on your course, country, cost, collateral, and co-applicant, so we build it with you rather than pushing one lender.

Can I get an education loan without collateral or a co-applicant?

Collateral-free loans exist and are common for stronger profiles, but almost every Indian education loan still expects a co-applicant, usually a parent or guardian. Whether an unsecured route is realistic for you depends on the course, the institution, the amount, and the co-applicant's income and credit history.

Can ShikshaLoan guarantee that my loan is approved?

No, and you should be careful with anyone who does. We can make your application as complete and well-timed as possible. The credit decision belongs to the lender.

Can ShikshaLoan guarantee a scholarship?

No. The scholarship pages help you find and shortlist awards. Selection depends on the provider's rules, the competition, deadlines, eligibility, and the quality of your application.

Why do you ask for so many documents?

Lenders verify the student, the course, the cost, the co-applicant's finances, and any collateral. Getting those documents in order early is the single biggest reason an application moves quickly instead of stalling near a fee deadline.

Should I treat the calculators as a quote?

No. They are planning tools, useful for seeing the shape of a repayment before you talk to anyone. Actual EMIs, fees, moratorium treatment, and sanction conditions come from the lender after its review.

What happens to the details I submit?

They are used to understand your funding position and to guide next steps, and are shared with a lender only when you are applying to that lender. Our privacy policy sets out how the information is handled.
